I know my blog has been pretty quiet over the summer, but I’m back at Uni now and churning out the work so don’t forget to pop by from time to time as it will be regularly updated again…promise!

In the first week back at Uni we were given a short project on studio rules, we basically had to come up with some rules and show them any way we wanted. I made these tea stains (although I really should have used coffee, would’ve been darker!) and wrote random rules about tea inside them, I think if they were cut down they’d make really cool badges. On the subject of badge makers, I REALLY WANT ONE! I’m thinking of biting the bullet and investing in one but maybe I should wait until I have a job before blowing the rest of the overdraft…or I could sell badges!

Just browsing the web to pass time and I found this poster which managed to put a smile on my face on this extremely grey October’s day.

I’m back at home for the summer now and I’ve hardly posted anything since I’ve been back, partly because I’ve been working and partly because I just haven’t done that much! So, just so you guys know I’m still alive here are a few pages from the sketchbook I started this summer…

Had a pretty lazy day today and spent a lot of my time browsing the web and the rest making cupcakes…then eating the icing and feeling sick! Anyway…found a couple of cool websites, one is gofonturself - a must for any type lovers! The other is Doodlers Anonymous which is packed with awesome illustrations, it would take days to look at everything on there!

When I was reading this month’s Elle I was pretty excited to see that Jeff Koons will be exhibiting at The Serpentine from 2nd July – 13th Septmeber 2009. I visited an exhibition of his a couple of years ago which featured the famous inflatables, I was even allowed to touch them as I couldn’t believe they were metal! Basically…his work is amazing and I would highly reccomend visiting the exhibition if you have a chance over the summer.
For those of you who don’t know, The Serpentine is in Kensington Gardens right next to Hyde Park, why not have a nice picnic while you’re at it?! Also at The Serpentine is an amazing bookshop, Koenig Books, try not to break the bank though!
See you there

Did a bit of work recently for a charity event called ‘The Big Chocolate Tea Party’.
I created a logo for the event and also a few pictures to be used for publicity for the event, unfortunately my designs weren’t used because, as Peer said…’It just wasn’t their cup of tea!’
A final color scheme for the logo (left) was never chosen, but my favourite has to be the beautiful blue one. If you’d like to see the logos at a bigger size check out my flickr page.
Below is a photo I thought could be used to promote the event…I carried on with the 3D text I’d done inĀ the ‘Makeability Month’ and used chocolate biscuits to make it. It was so frustrating as they kept breaking, but I used the leftovers to make a lovely Belgian Biscuit Cake
yum yum! Again, more photos on good ol’ flickr.
So, let me know what you guys think…as always your opinions are very, very welcome!
Much Love x

For part of the first year computer workshops we had a project to design some double page spreads on InDesign experimenting with different styles for each one.
The subject of my spreads was illustration, although the text is only placeholder text.
Enjoy!

Just finished working on our last brief for the first year! The brief was to write a six point manifesto for a busker which would ‘improve their lives’. So, we headed to Covent Garden where we spoke to a couple of lovely buskers and of course watched their performances, unluckily (for us and them) it wasn’t a very pleasant day so the whole street performance scene was fairly quite.
After much deliberating we decided to write a six point manifesto for the public on how to piss of a busker as a lot things seem to really annoy them! (I would just like to point out that this isn’t serious, I don’t truely wish to piss off a busker!)
We photocopied our manifesto onto hudereds of pieces of paper and folded it into little books which we placed around the uni- today High Wycombe, tomorrow the World! We basically wanted our manifesto to get out there and for people to read it…and it worked, my flatmate’s just come home and told me she picked one up.

The most gorgeous packaging ever!
(And the products are amazing too)
I absolutely love the retro packaging on Soap&Glory products designed by Biggs&Co, the mix of coloured text and black and white images looks great and also the combination of swirly text with simple, bold text. The witty lines on the front and the blurb are a great read whilst in the shower!
