Things I’ve Done
Hello stranger
Sorry that I have neglected my blog over the summer…I have been busy with other bits and pieces and blogging has somehow slipped to the bottom of my ‘to-do’ list. I will be blogging regularly again when I’m back at Uni again… in the meantime how about you check out my Etsy store?!
<3
I got a new diary today…
…but I feel a bit too attached to my old one to throw it away just yet. I’m such a hoarder!
Best chair EVER <3
A student from my Uni made this chair…gave it a little test at New Designers, it was far too hot anyway that day but I can imagine come Winter it would be lovely to come home and have this little beaut’ in your front room.
Today I had a lovely day in London with Laura, we went to New Designers which was great…gave me the motivational kick in the butt I was in much need of! Then we headed over to Camden for some Chinese food in the sunshine.

Oh I do like to be beside the seaside <3
Seaside themed brooches & necklaces made for a self-written project at Uni.
Each one has been screen printed with black fabric ink & hand sewn by yours truly! I have already had to say goodbye to both the Mr Whippys & the pink horse (did a good ol’ trade with Sara!) I plan to make lots more though…I love how they look as a set with all the bright seaside-y colours together! I have lots of plans for these babys so keep your eyes peeled guys…coming to a store near you soon (or maybe just Etsy!)
Today was my last proper day at Uni this year, I really can’t believe how quick it’s gone, I don’t ever want to leave! I’m now about to embark on a mammoth cleaning mission in my bedroom to get my life sorted for the summer. I have just over 3 months off now & would love to do a couple of internships over the summer…*fingers crossed*
Ciao for now,
Charlotte Jane <3
Formspring
I decided to go ahead and get a Formspring…out of curiosity really! So yea, hit me up with some questions if you fancy it biatches <3
so, apparently this means cunt in sign language?! well that’s what i heard
Saw Florence & The Machine last night at Hammersmith…AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING!!! I am even more excited for Big Weekend now just to see them again. Had a lovely little day today too, had a nice family lunch then went into London with my Mummy to buy some art supplies followed by a nice cream tea.
Bed time now, nighty night <3
Manicure Sunday <3
Barry M 293 (Grey) & 296 (Coral)
I did my nails all grey last time so I thought I’d add a little summery touch of coral to my manicure this morning, these 2 make a cute colour combination although the coral hasn’t photographed particularly well, it’s lighter and brighter than it looks in the photo- almost fluorescent really.
Tonight I’m going to the cinema to see Kick-Ass with the boy <3 really looking forward to our usual popcorn combo!
Happy Sunday everyone.

YCN hand in day…
Somehow I managed to not finish my Ted Baker YCN project until I was on the train into London to hand it in, I really don’t know how this happened! I started it off so early and then got distracted by other bits and bobs going on, I vow never ever to do this again after turning into a complete bitch on hand in day after only eating 2 pieces of toast all day and having very little sleep.
Anyway, this is how it turned out…
As you can see I basically made the window display into a mini greyhound racing track…the idea is that it will have wheels inside the store so that people can go in and manually race the little doggies around the track. The glittery lettering and little hounds took ridiculously long to make but I’m so glad I put the effort in as I think these really make it. The lights were a bit of a last minute touch (luckily I had them hanging around from a previous project!) but I think they look great and in a real life window display would really stand out at night time. The brief stated Ted Baker were into doing fun giveaways for customers, so I made the little red rosette as something that would come attached to the carrier bag (so people in the street would see it too) but also would double up as a pin badge. I was gutted the rosette was a little bit rushed as I managed to lose the ribbon in my chaotic bedroom and found it half an hour before I had to leave…this is something I really wish I had a bit more time to do, I might make a little perfect one for myself anyway as I think it’s a pretty awesome little badge!
So, at half 3 myself and a few friends headed into London to had in our masterpieces. I was so glad we just missed rush hour as I don’t think my model would have made it through rush hour on the tube! We handed them in to YCN about an hour before the deadline, then headed to a lovely little diner to reward ourselves for all our hard work.
I didn’t take this photo as I didn’t have my camera on me (I really must invest in a new little digi cam to always have in my bag) but I really liked the front of the YCN building. You can’t see to well in this photo but the stripy coloured bits and ‘YCN 72′ are made from large sequins that move in the breeze for that shimmery effect.
Even though this project is all done and handed in any comments on it would be much appreciated…hopefully some constructive criticism will help with future projects!
Much Love,
Charlotte Jane x
