‘Makeability Month’…Letterpress

As part of our ‘Makeability Month’ we had a workshop in Letterpress, (it was the first time I’ve ever done it) and it was awesome- definately something I would want to get more experienced with in the second year. I did pretty basic things but I think the outcome is so effective and the actual printing of it takes seconds, so once you’ve got everything set up you could do hundereds!

Firstly I found a few different variations of my letter ‘T’ which I put into a nice layout (I think!) and began my printing…

Then I used different characters to create emoticons. We were given some cool surfaces to print on…a luggage tag, receipt book pages and neon signs. These backgrounds really added to the pieces and helped them all to look a bit different.

(My favourite is the one on the orange heart with the little quiff…what a cutie!)
